This inspiring documentary captures how Ilitaqsiniq’s Inu-vative programs deliver quality, holistic learning opportunities relevant to today’s Inuit. These non-formal, embedded literacy and essential skills programs build on what Inuit have …always known to be true and apply traditional skills to contemporary life in Nunavut and beyond.
Inspired by Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (Inuit Traditional Knowledge), Ilitaqsiniq Inu-vation represents our integrated method of program design and infuses vitality into all our initiatives. While divided into six core elements, the elements of Inu-vation are always realized holistically:
• Honouring the Past while Embracing the Future
• Advancing Our Fundamental Belief in Inuit Culture to Grow, Thrive and Adapt
• Creating Safe and Healing Spaces
• Learning and Living in Inuktut
• Embedded Literacy, Language and Essential Skills
• Building a Whole Community.

Ilitaqsiniq is proud to be a partner of the Rankin Rock Hockey Camp. Over the past eight years we have worked as part of the team to embed literacy and …essential skills into the camp. Supporting the children and youth, boys and girls, to become strong community leaders is worth the time, effort and investment.
A short film about Ilitaqsiniq’s Inuktitut immersion day camp program, teaching Inuktitut to children through language immersion and cultural activities.
Living and learning in Inuktut is the foundation for Inuit …culture. Our language holds the stories, knowledge, family histories and connections that our people have learned over millennia. Reclaiming our language starts with our children. Ilitaqsiniq incorporates as much Inuktut as possible in all our programming.
